IN LOVING MEMORY OF

PHABIN PHILLIP LUCERO

March 19, 2008 - December 30, 2009

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever the reason behind Abuse Angels.

Before there was a story of loss, there was a little boy named Phabin.

REMEMBERING PHABIN

Phabin Philip Lucero was born on March 19, 2008. For 21 precious months, he was a little boy with a life, a family, and a future that should have stretched far beyond his second birthday. To the world, Phabin may be known through the tragedy that took his life. But to his mother, he was so much more than a name, a photograph, or a heartbreaking story. He was her son.

He was a little boy who deserved to grow up surrounded by love, to celebrate birthdays, to experience the excitement of childhood, and to become everything he was meant to be. On December 30, 2009, Phabin's life was taken before he reached his second birthday. But his story did not end there. The love his mother carries for him became the foundation of something that would eventually reach far beyond their family.

Through Abuse Angels, Phabin's memory continues to inspire the remembrance of children whose lives were taken by abuse and neglect. Every child honored here has a story worth telling. Every name deserves to be remembered. And at the heart of it all is a little boy named Phabin.

THE LITTLE BOY BEHIND THE ANGELS

Before there was Abuse Angels, there was Phabin. A little boy who was so much more than the tragedy that took his life. He was a son, a grandson, a brother, a godson, a nephew, and a cousin. He belonged to a family who loved him deeply, and he held a special place in the hearts of so many. And as the years have passed, his family has continued to grow.

Phabin has siblings he never had the chance to meet, including a little brother who came into this world after he was gone. His family holds close the beautiful belief that Peyton was handpicked by Phabin in heaven, a special connection between two brothers who never had the opportunity to meet here on earth. Phabin is now an uncle, too. A title he never had the chance to experience, but one that will always belong to him. There have been birthdays, celebrations, new additions to the family, and countless moments he should have been here to share.

There are photographs he should have been in, memories he should have helped create, and people he should have had the chance to know. But even though his family has continued to grow without him physically here, his place within it has never changed. He is still someone's son. Still someone's brother. Still a grandson, a godson, a nephew, a cousin, and now an uncle. He is still loved. Still spoken of. Still part of the family. Long before his name became connected to a mission of remembering children lost to abuse, Phabin was simply a little boy whose life meant everything to the people who loved him. And no matter how many years pass, that will never change.

PHABIN'S STORY

JUSTICE FOR PHABIN

THE LITTLE BOY WHO INSPIRED ABUSE ANGELS

Abuse Angels began with a mother's love for a little boy named Phabin Phillip Lucero. When Phabin's life was taken, his mother was left with a love that had nowhere to go and a lifetime of memories that would never be made. But even in the heartbreak of losing her son, there was one thing that would never change. Phabin would always matter, and his name would never be forgotten.

What began as a way to honor Phabin's memory eventually grew into something much bigger. Abuse Angels became a place where children whose lives were taken by abuse and neglect could be remembered for more than the circumstances of their deaths. A place where their names, their faces, and their stories could be shared with the dignity and compassion they deserve.

Behind every memorial is a child who should still be here. A family forever changed. A future that was taken away. Through Abuse Angels, Phabin's mother continues to honor not only her son, but the countless other children whose lives ended far too soon.

Phabin never had the chance to know the difference his little life would make. He never knew that one day, a website would exist because of him, or that his name would become connected to so many other children who deserved to be protected.

Abuse Angels was built from love, loss, and the determination that these children will not be forgotten. And at the heart of it all will always be one little boy.

His name is Phabin. And because of him, Abuse Angels exists.

FOREVER MY SON
